navigating mental health through the noise

You may have found yourself here during a challenging phase in your life. Seeking counselling can seem scary and overwhelming, however, talking to someone can bring hope and purpose. My counselling approach provides a safe and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions, develop resilience and find balance in your life.
No matter where you are on your journey, therapy can help.
Hi!
My name is Sophie, I’m qualified and registered counsellor and psychotherapist.
My clients come from a wide range of backgrounds and face a diverse array of challenges. I’m also a musician and take a special interest in working with musicians and people in music and creative industries. Find out more here. You’ll never have to explain the unique pressures of being in this industry to me, I will understand and relate to your circumstances personally because I’ve navigated similar experiences myself.
As a therapist I draw upon psychodynamic and person-centered therapies. What does this mean? Essentially, I integrate various therapeutic models to tailor our work together to fit your needs.
My goal is to create a comfortable environment for you, where you’ll feel supported, heard and understood.
If you have any questions about the way I work or what coming to therapy might entail, please feel free to contact me.
How can counselling help me?
Counselling and Psychotherapy enables us to safely gain deeper insight into ourselves, facilitated by the presence of a trained professional counsellor or psychotherapist. By exploring both conscious and unconscious thoughts and emotions, we begin to discover our needs, expectations, motivations, unresolved traumas, habitual patterns of thought and behavior, belief systems, and interpersonal or relationship dynamics.
This journey can lead to the alleviation of current symptoms, healing of past wounds and a reconnection with our true self.
Through self-reflection and introspection, we can re-discover our purpose, values, and what is significant in our lives, finding our sense of meaning.
As self-awareness increases, we begin to see shifts in our self-perception and relationships, discovering more fulfilling ways to live that resonates with our current identity and aspirations.
Psychotherapy is a creative and collaborative journey, which can present challenges along the way.
My role is to strive for a profound understanding of your experiences, to see the world from your eyes.
